Luxury Treehouses set in woodland at Ramside Hall, Co. Durham. Main treehouse has a wraparound balcony with external hot tub, whilst triangular units have a large balcony area to rear.
WB Engineers produced designs for raised steelwork decks to support both triangular and curved treehouse type structures. The frame adopted fixed moment connections between legs and floor beams to resist lateral forces and provide stability. A metal deck floor was fixed to the steelwork to provide a diaphragm and allow the superstructure to be built atop.
The triangular treehouse adopted a steel frame for the superstructure to allow quick and easy installation whilst the curved treehouse used steelwork for large spans with timber being the main structural form. Tekla Structural Designer was used to facilitate the designs.
